Tangalooma Island Resort

OLD Coast, Queensland tourism has become an icon. Exotic beach area that is located right on the lips of tempestuous Pacific Ocean. Can take only one hour drive from the capital city of Queensland, Brisbane.

Gold Coast is one of the places we visited at the invitation of the Tourism Queensland recently. As an important tourist destination, the Gold Coast has yet unmatched in the entire state that it was nicknamed the Sunshine State.

But, from a five-day visit, we also find a variety of other activities that could be an alternative to fill the Christmas and New Year holidays. One place I recommend is to Tangalooma Island Resort.

Tangalooma is located at Moreton Pulai. From Brisbane, the required travel time by sailing around 75 minutes. We arrived at Tangalooma at around 11:15 local time. Direct spread the beauty of white sand Moreton Island's west coast. When arriving at the shore, we saw some tourists middle pelicans feeding birds, guided the resort staff. That's one of the activities prepared by the hotel manager.

Desert Safari

The first activity we did in this place is the Desert Safari Tour. To reach the location, we were transported in two buses. I joined the troupe from Japan. The bus we rode a special bus that is designed for off-road.

Previously, I could not imagine going through the road is not paved. For half an hour, we passed through some muddy dirt road. On the left and right is a jungle.

As I pass the hard way, through a loudspeaker, the driver reminded us to hold the chair. Not uncommon to hear shouts of passengers when the bus drove through the steep winding road.

After some time, we entered the desert region. The bus stopped near a sand hill. The driver told us all down and took off his shoes. He says it's time to sand tabogganing, or gliding in the desert. Then, he pulled out dozens of thin board size of approximately 0.8 x 30 x 100 centimeters.

We got a 'course' brief, how to glide with the base board. When gliding, the hand holding the two ends of the board, while the second position of the elbow must be held high. "Each got one board. Let us try directly, let's ride," he gave the command to us to climb the high hill about 50 yards with a slope of about 45 degree.

Initially I was not brave and decided to be a spectator only. Shriveled balls that saw the height of sand dunes. "Come on, you will lose money if you do not try. Anyway, you've come all the way down here," said Chad Croft, Sales Manager Asia Tangalooma Island Resort, encouragingly. Finally, I even ventured to try.

To get to the top requires extra energy. Especially for me who never exercise. After climbing about 15 minutes, finally reached the top and wait for their turn to slide.

Hooray ... I finally shot with a launching board. I kept going until finally it stops on flat surfaces. My reckoning is not more than 60 seconds. And, ordinary ruarr sensation.

Chad asked me to repeat it. I refused, not because of fear, but it did not feel strong again climb the steep sand dunes.

From my observation, not a few participants who stopped in the middle because it reversed. However, no one suffered injuries because the sand was very soft. There are also sliding in tandem. One person who hugged the shoulders of the board holding the launcher.

Dolphin

Another interesting experience is to feed the dolphins, at around 18:45 local time. I was with the other tourists were lined up neatly in rows. We each took a piece of fish to be given to the dolphins that have been located by the mainland. When bait was struck, I felt the wet touch of wild dolphins.

According to Chad, these activities were carried out every night and have not had the dolphins do not come. There were about 10 dolphins who come every night and fed tourists. "Initially the feeding of the fishermen is about 10 years ago. Then we use to attract tourists," says Chad.

For children, the manager of the hotel provides a variety of game, accompanied by experienced officers. But if you just want to get lazy, please sunbathing on white sand beaches that limits the blue water. Very beautiful. That is why I am determined to return to this place. However, this time not alone keep taking my daughter's favorite. Tangalooma, I'll be back!
